trigger happy chicken banner COMP

Trigger Happy Chickens consists of a husband and wife team, John and Kate. We live in Northern Ireland amongst the drumlins of Co. Down.

This trigger started life in 2008 when a friend of ours showed us something he had made himself. This small device was fitted into a plastic dustbin and supported about 18inches off the ground allowing him to feed his flock only once every week.

We immediately saw the advantages of this and we were presented with one to try. It was an instant success as we could now leave the birds for a weekend without needing someone to feed them every day. It is easy to get a neighbour or friend to give them a quick check and gather the eggs each evening, when fresh eggs are on offer.

Other advantages also became apparent. Wild birds and rats could no longer help themselves at will. Also it was great in the winter time as we both work and during the dark months we would both be away in the mornings and return home again in darkness, only seeing our chickens at weekends. No more feeding by torchlight.

We then made a few modifications and improvements to the original, until we now have something which we can make quite economically and sell to others. (With the full permission of the original developer) They are mechanically very simple and will not wear out or block in wet weather.

Our first sale started through eBay some years ago and has gradually increased as word got around. We are proud of our 100% feedback which has been built up through a good product and extra care in customer service. A full refund within 3 weeks of purchase if the customer isn’t happy has always been on offer.

We love to have questions and to hear what users think of the trigger. We are very proud of this little item and want every user to be happy with their purchase.

Thanks for now,
Kate and John.
